Showers in the west will spread to many areas this evening. Staying cold with moderate to fresh winds becoming west to northwest.


Cold early tonight, with clear spells and also some frost in places. But scattered showers in Atlantic coastal counties will become widespread overnight, some of them heavy, with hail and sleet . Windy later, with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, increasing fresh to strong. Lowest temperatures 1 to 3 C.


Tomorrow, will be a cold, blustery, showery day, with occasional bright spells. Showers will be fairly widespread, many heavy and some prolonged with hail, sleet or snow and a few thunderstorms likely. Top temperatures 4 to 7 C. Westerly winds will be strong and gusty and up to gale force along coasts.
