Cold, breezy and wet at first but drier, clearer conditions will follow from the west, later. Freshening south to southwest winds, later veering west to northwest.


Cold early tonight, with clear spells and also some frost in places. But scattered showers in the west will spread overnight, some of hail. Windy later, with moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, increasing fresh to strong. Lowest temperatures 1 to 4 C.


Tomorrow, will be a cold, blustery, showery day, with occasional bright spells. Showers will be fairly widespread, some heavy and prolonged, with hail or sleet or possibly snow and a few thunderstorms likely. Top temperatures 4 to 7 C. Westerly winds will be strong and gusty.
